Bookmaker Verification
Why is verification necessary and how to complete it?
Player verification at a bookmaker's office is the confirmation of their identity by providing an official document (most often a passport). Many beginners who register on bookmaker websites for the first time do not consider this procedure appropriate or safe and choose an alternative - creating an account with a bookmaker without a document that certifies the owner's identity.
In all legal bookmakers, verification is a mandatory procedure. This is due to a significant reduction in risks, both for the player and for the bookmaker itself.
What verification methods are available?
The bookmaker provides a standard verification method on the website, which consists of sending scans of documents certifying the owner's identity and place of residence. The user first registers on the site, then logs in using the received data and goes to their Personal Account, to the 'Settings' section. All scans must be of good quality, otherwise the security service may refuse to process the request or even block access to the account on suspicion of fraudulent activity.
Completing verification protects the bookmaker from fraud and multi-accounting, and guarantees the player fair games and timely payouts of earned funds. The player may be offered to undergo a video call, during which a bookmaker employee will contact them at a convenient time. During the conversation, you must have an identity document with you to present it upon request.
If a player has not passed verification, their withdrawal limits will be significantly restricted. Each bookmaker independently determines the threshold for the monthly financial turnover and the size of a single transaction for unverified accounts.
Security of providing passport data to a bookmaker
If we are talking about illegal bookmakers, then of course, providing such data is NOT safe!
Offshore companies provide no guarantees, neither in terms of the confidentiality of the registered user's personal data, nor regarding payment details, nor in terms of prohibiting the transfer of information to third parties.
If unpleasant situations arise, a player of an illegal bookmaker will not be able to turn anywhere for help. Representatives of such companies are not present in most countries, and their registration is too far away to be approached with demands. Besides, there are no legal grounds for such demands.
Important: Safe verification with the provision of a document certifying the player's identity is possible only if the bookmaker operates legally in your country, with the permission of the tax authority. All data will be stored in encrypted form on the servers of the regulator that oversees this activity.
